Seminar: Monday 6th January 2014. Notes and Feedback.

I had my first official visual practice seminar today which personally I felt didn't go as planned- This was 100% down to me though. I came unprepared and despite having a long and in depth 'initial' idea planned in my note book. I failed to get my ideas across at all. Firstly I showed a selection of images that have no link whats-so-ever to my ideas this term.

These images were taken in first year. They are very posed, set up, controlled and this is made even more known by the obvious studio setting. They don't give off the 'intrusive' or 'diary like/snapshot ascetic I wanted for this term. The class had no response to these and rightly so.

I also showed the class another selection of images - again linked with the ones above where I focused on nudity and the body.

The bottom image was accused of being "too much like a fashion image" and the collection as a whole, I was told there's no clear style within my work. However the third image was given the thumbs up with feedback such as "Good lighting, Beautiful and interesting".  All the feedback was extremely helpful because it clarified for me that not doing studio nudes again is a good creative decision.
